GOD LEADS YOU TO WHERE HIS PROMISE AWAITS

A few days ago, I was reading the book of Genesis, and when I came to the story of Joseph the dreamer, I had to pause and reflect. At the age of 17, as we see in Genesis 37:2, Joseph had two dreams showing that he would become great and that his brothers would bow before him. He was young, naïve, and unaware of the extent of his greatness or how it would come to pass. Sadly, his brothers, filled with jealousy, began to hate him and plotted to kill him. But because God was with Joseph, the well they threw him into was completely dry, and instead of killing him, they sold him to merchants heading to Egypt—introducing uncertainty into his life. Moving to a new country as a young man is hard enough, but for Joseph, it was a forced move—from being his father’s beloved son to becoming a slave to strangers in a foreign land. Yet God’s plan was still in motion. Joseph was bought by Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh. Joseph worked so diligently that Potiphar put him in charge of his entire household. However, Potiphar’s wife disrupted this plan when she falsely accused Joseph of attempted rape (Genesis 39:12–19). Even in prison, God was with Joseph, granting him favor with the prison wardens, who put him in charge of the other prisoners (Genesis 39:21). Though Joseph could not see the full picture, God was using each situation to build his leadership skills. In prison, Joseph faithfully cared for the prisoners and had the opportunity to interpret the dreams of Pharaoh’s butler and baker. When the butler was released, Joseph asked him to mention his case to Pharaoh so he could return to his family (Genesis 40:14–15). But God had bigger plans for Joseph in Egypt, and the butler forgot about him for two whole years. At the appointed time, God orchestrated a change. He gave Pharaoh a dream that only Joseph could interpret. In one day, Joseph went from being a forgotten prisoner in a foreign land to the prime minister of Egypt. Did he train for this position? No—God Himself qualified him and gave him the wisdom to create a strategic plan for the years ahead. Joseph’s elevation was not just about him—it was for his family and future generations. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, be encouraged today. Our God is our glory and the lifter of our heads. He will exalt your horn and lead you to green pastures for His name’s sake. Trust Him always, for His promises will surely come to pass. Your breakthrough may not look like Joseph’s, but one day, you will look back with gratitude for how everything worked out. Remember, God has gone ahead of you, making every crooked path straight. Have a blessed and fulfilling day!
