I was recently prayer walking around my neighborhood and found myself singing a worship song which has these words from James 1:17 “every good and every perfect gift comes from God, who is the Father of lights.” As I pondered more on the Bible verse I realized that our God and Father is an intentional giver; a giver of good and perfect gifts. Psalm 85:12 puts it this way “Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. “When our God gives us good things we experience increase and blessings. “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32. This verse clearly states that He freely gives us things thus cementing our confidence in Him as our God. As the intentional giver that God is, His gifts are without repented because He keeps His promises.
Now, picture this, if God is able to give good and perfect gifts; what can we ask from Him that He cannot give us? Be reminded that there is no shadow of turning and no variableness with Him and by two immutable things; it is impossible for God to lie. What He promises is what he does and though His timing may not always align with ours, He always does exceeding, abundantly above all we could ask or think.
Brethren in Christ, be encouraged especially if you’re trusting God for anything. Always remember that He is an intentional giver who would bypass merit and still give you. He is not in a rush because His gifts are always good and perfect gifts without repentance. God is not selective in His gifts; from peace, wisdom, knowledge, understanding and even Eternal Life; He gives them freely and intentionally.
