VASHTI MUST STEP ASIDE

For the past week, I have been reflecting on a specific aspect of the story detailing Esther's rise to become queen of a great kingdom. In Esther 1:10-12, king Ahasuerus had commanded 7 chamberlains to call his queen Vashti, so that he can showcase her beauty to the princes at his party. Vashti refused to come and the king got angry and decided to replace her with a new maiden. This was how Esther a young Jewish maiden became the wife of a powerful and influential king. Well, our focus is on Vashti who lost her crown because of disobedience but wait, if she didn’t disobey the king, Esther wouldn’t have become queen and the fate of the Jews would have been in jeopardy in the long run. Vashti represents anything or anyone that has to get out of your way for your star to shine. It could be your mindset, your fears, unforgiveness, wrong association, your work schedule or even an ex-lover among many more. While you may be wondering how these aspects can hinder your advancement, let me bring an example to you. You may want to change your job but you’re afraid you may not get it or that you’re not qualified. Vashti is that fear that is stopping you from taking your chance at the job. You may be trusting God for a spouse but your ideal partner’s picture keeps coming in the way of your choices, as a result you may take longer to see the path God has for you. Remember that Esther’s marriage to the king wasn’t only because she was beautiful but also because God had a purpose for the union. God has a purpose for everything in our lives but we also have to know when we’re not in our God-ordained position. It’ll shock you to know that there are ‘Vashtis’ that unless they step out of your way, you may never move forward. I pray that everything that represents Vashti in our lives gives way in Jesus name, amen! How can we push Vashti aside? To be honest with you, it can only be through prayer. As you seek the face of God in prayer, He will go before you like he did for Esther and dethrone Vashti to your advantage. The Lord will go before you and make every crooked path straight. He will give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways and they will bear you up lest you dash your foot against a stone. He is the God that raises the poor from the dunghill and sets them to sit with princes. Brethren in Christ, I prophesy over each one of us that, whatever represents Vashti and that needs to get out of our way for us our star to shine brighter, let it give way now in Jesus mighty name, Amen!
