We are in the first month of the New Year and it's no secret we are thinking about a lot of new things and how to go about them. There are some things we believed we would have by the end of the year that passed but didn't get them and so our expectations are somehow very high as we look forward to this new year. Before i continue with this blog post, i would like to apologize for the delay to post. I had some internet problems especially with my computer and so i had to be patient until it's fixed. Early this year, I was meditating on the title of this post 'do no be afraid' and this what i learned. It is interesting to know that the phrase 'do not be afraid' appears 365 times in the entire Bible which means for everyday we have a promise from God to take care of every challenge we might face. Take note that each time an Angel appeared to anyone they will always assure them that they came for good. When he Angel of God appeared to Mary in Luke 1:30 (NIV), he said to Mary "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favour with God." With this phrase of assurance, we're confident that God has gone ahead of us to make every crooked path straight, He has taken paths that we will take and He has won every battle we may face. In the abundance of His love for us, He has won the victory against diseases, depression, sin, anxiety etc for us and He says to us 'do not be afraid'. You are more than a conqueror in Him who raised Jesus from the dead and He says to you this day 'do not be afraid'. He lives in you; in Him you live and move and have your being and all He is saying to you is 'do no be afraid'. You may be living in shame and condemnation but He says to this day every other day "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit" Romans 8:1(KJV). You may feel like you have missed the plan of God for your life but He says to you in Romans 8:29-30 "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified". Glory to God! You are not alone, God is for you and so no one can be against you (Verse 31).
Brethren in Christ, we are sons of God and we have received the spirit of adoption,whereby we cry Abba Father (Romans 8:14-16). You may not see or understand but all things are working for your good. You are the object of God's delight;you are in Christ and He is in you. Some time last year i read a tweet by a minister of the Gospel and he said 'God only has masterpieces.' That is glorious; you are a masterpiece, i am a masterpiece and we are all His masterpieces. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: 'cursed is everyone who is hung on the tree,'" Galatians 3:13(NIV). He was crucified and He for you and as you. You are not under any curse because you are free in Him and He that the Son has set free is free indeed. You are completely forgiven and you now have free access to the Father in Christ. Because the Lord is with you, you are safe and secure being preserved from harm in Him. God is faithful and He will not let harm come to you. The Lord is with you, you shall not fail, you shall go out and come back with all that is good. We are partakers of the Divine Life, being born of incorruptible seed and the greater One who is Christ lives in us. Do not be afraid for the works of your hand is blessed and everything you touch will flourish in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
