There are times when we read challenges
on our path as dashboards to stop our pursuit. Every great and impactful
assignment has challenges and it's no secret that we sometimes fail to see how
important it is to stay the course. Yes, we often feel like quitting and just
going back to being normal like it never happened especially when faced with
great challenges. Every believer is a saint, every saint is a minister and
every minister has an assignment in the plan of God on earth because we are
saved to served. Whether you're serving the Lord by preaching and teaching the
message of Christ, singing in the choir and worship team in your church, or you
are talking to some of your family members, classmates and friends about the
love of God etc, you're a minister of Christ. It is important to note that
every decision you make in your life is directly linked to what you discern to
be the area of God's calling in your life. Some days you feel like you're not
advancing in that assignment, at times you feel like you have completely gone
off course due to some challenges you may be facing in other areas in your
life. You may have problems in your health, career, marriage, education and
more; remember, Jesus Christ is still Lord over all. Believe me when i say it's
easy to forget that God is the author of peace and that even in the midst of
our trials He makes us to triumph. The fact that your prayer frequency can only
measured as low doesn't mean you have failed God. You may have stopped
preaching to those you preach to or may have stopped going out for evangelism
but it still doesn't mean that you are a failure. At this point in time it's
easy to feel ashamed or condemn yourself for being unable to focus even in
prayer but remember again, does not call the qualified, He qualifies the
called.
Be encouraged dear brethren in Christ,
Christ is your only life and He is the one at work in you both to will and to
do His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). There is no lost cause with God; He
chose you from the foundation of the world to be His own and He who started the
good work in you will continue till the end. Whenever you rely on your strength
and abilities to do anything for God you will be weighed down, it will seem
burdensome and you will end up disappointed. But when you're conscious that
it's Christ in our doing the work of his Father through you, even when you're
challenged you'll know victory is certain. As we believed by faith in Christ
alone, so are we to live. We are born in a time when God has chosen to reveal
Himself to us in a marvelous way. His love surrounds, comforts, strengthens and
guides us; we have face to face audience with Father God and we are not limited
in any way. Abba Father, God is faithful and He is True. He has called us to
that which has an eternal impact, a calling that goes beyond chronological time
and extends to generations and so we should not take it for granted. It's a
privilege to serve God and to partner with him in making the message of Christ
known all over the world. As sons of God, we should see every season of our
lives as preparation time; a time when God is building virtues in us. A
reassuring truth is, we have been committed to by our Lord Jesus Christ to the
guidance of the Holy Spirit. This means that even if at certain phases of our
lives we miss the purposes and plans of God, if we maintain hearts that are
sensitive to the Holy Spirit, He will always reorient us. Be rest assured that,
at every moment of your life, no matter what you have done, God is always
closer to you than the air you breath. He lives in you and you are in Him in an
indissoluble union, a union closer than close, a union of mutual indwelling. Be
encouraged brethren in Christ, you have what it takes to be effective in what
God has called you to fulfil because Christ is your only life (Colossians 3:4).
Let us pray the prayer and affirmation below together.
PRAYER
Father
of my Lord Jesus Christ, i consecrate myself unto Your call, I dedicate my life
and set myself apart unto the Holy Spirit for the special work whereunto He has
appointed me. That I may be thoroughly cleansed from the contaminating
influences of what is ignoble and unclean, to be a vessel used for honorable
and noble purposes, consecrated as ready for the use of my Master who is the
head of the Church and the owner of the household of faith. That I may be
equipped and ready for all honorable employment and for every sort of
ministerial service. I praise You my Heavenly Father, for You who have called
me is faithful and will by no means fail me. For You have counted me worthy of
this calling that I have received. You are the One who brings it to total
fulfilment, that the name of my Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in me and I
in Him, in accordance with Your grace, and share in your glory.
Amen!
