JOYFULLY CELEBRATING VALENTINE'S DAY

This is the month of February in this year of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 2018, the year in which we are Advancing greatly and fulfiling God's plan for our lives. Almost all over the world (if not all), people have termed February as the month of Love because of Valentine's Day. Please, don't get me wrong, I think there is too much emphasis laid on this one day whereas love is an everyday thing. Another picture that is painted of valentine's day that may be a wrong picture is the fact that it appears to be more like an occassion for boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife. My parents celebrated Valentine's day first with their children before going on a date because we were part of their Valentine's day. I know the occassion came as a result of Saint Valentine who stood for the honor of Christian marriages by making sure that Christian men and women who were in love would be joined by matrimony and not live together in concubinage. He was later executed on the 14th of February as a result of this wonderful choice. The day became known as Valentine's day in honor of this noble act of his. With this brief background knowledge on what happened, we can learn to celebrate better; seeing it that we clebrate with less pressure and more love. Take special note that, being in a relationship on Valentine's day is not a requirement to be happy because the love you share is not culminated in one day. Couples have broken up on valentine's day, others fight more than ever because of this one day, while others are subjected to too much pressure to the point that they miss out on the beauty of the time spent with their loved one.Remember, i am not against celebrating Valentine's day with your beloved but try not make it your point of focus in this time. Let's get a bit practical here, as a couple is it only on valentine's day that you go on a date? No, is certainly the answer. Is it always the best time you spend with your beloved? No. Then why make it look like Valentine's day is the only day you get to express your love with one another. If you want to buy a gift, go on a date or vacation with your beloved, you are so free to do that but don't make it a Valentine's day thing. There will always be special occasions in your relationship that will warrant you to either buy a gift, take your beloved on a date or travel somewhere to celebrate together; occassions like anniversaries, birthdays, simple and sweet date nights etc. will always come around.
As for those who are single and hating the fact that they will not have a date on Valentine's day, chill, no need to pressure yourself. If there is a day in your life that you want to enjoy the good things that life offers, you have to learn to find fulfilment in whatever state you find yourself in because it's temporal. You can go out with your friends; talk and laugh, play games, eat and drink and have so much fun. You don't have to feel sad, there is nothing wrong with you being single. Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and so you don't  need occassions to express it; you're a son of God and that is unchangeable. Delights yourself in all that God has made you, rejoice always because you are blessed beyond what you can imagine. God is your Father and He is a good Father, you cannot ask for bread and He gives you a stone. Being single and not having a valentine's date is not what determines your worth before God and before any man; you're precious to God in every way and the one He will give to you will be worth the wait.
Blessed with all Blessings in Christ!!!
