WALKING IN THE PURPOSE OF GOD

‘Every believer is a saint and every saint is a minister’ is a quote that should serve as a fuel in every believer’s life. As believers in Christ we all have something to fulfill in the Body of Christ irrespective of age, sex and location. God created us all for a purpose. Christ Jesus has made us His dwelling place thus sanctifying us and making us worthy to be used for the glory of the Father. The Holy Spirit instructs us on what has been freely bestowed unto on by the Father. The Holy Spirit instructs us on what has been freely bestowed unto us by the Father in Christ Jesus. He doesn’t live in us so that we can be quiet and shy away from preaching the gospel or so that we can live for ourselves. What about those in our families and neighborhoods who are oppressed by lies they have believed about God, what about people who have never heard about God and His love for mankind. There are countless thousands out there some in other religious circles which do not glorify God while others simply don’t know what to believe. They are each waiting for an opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you must walk in God’s purpose you must walk in His calling and His calling is in His Son Christ Jesus. Remember God chose you from the foundation of the world, He initiated it and He did everything and called us to walk in all that He has done. There are some things we ought to be conscious of in order to walk in the purpose of God for our lives, they are as follows;

Focus on what God has told you to do and follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit. As much as we all have been foreordained by God to be in Christ, there is something we are specifically called to fulfill in the Body of Christ. Before you can say you have some purpose to fulfill, there must be something you are convinced and confident God has revealed by his Spirit to your inner man. Whatever God has told you, write it down in your notebook, pray for direction and a better understanding of what God has revealed to you. It will be a progressive and successive revelation and every step He leads you to take has a new assignment to go on. It is important to note that the primary purpose of every believer is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we need to make it known to every man on the earth that salvation is in Christ Jesus who is our Lord and savior, it is free and forever. It is the role of the Holy Spirit to teach, counsel, instruct and reveal Christ in every regard and so we have to submit ourselves wholly to his leadership and no matter what happens we have to know it is all working for our good. We easily let ourselves believe that what others are doing is far better than what we’ve been called to do. No way, there is never a lost cause with God, don’t go with the crowd, focus on Christ who is the Author and Finisher of your faith and He will fulfill the will of the Father in and through you.

Give yourself wholly to what you are called to do: To walk in the purpose of God for your life, you need to be diligent in whatever you’re called to do. Be committed, give yourself to Bible study, buy study materials from the ministers of the Gospel you follow especially the one ministering daily over your life.  Be prayerful; submit yourself to be taught as well as give room for the Holy Spirit to minister to your inner man. The more you meditate and acknowledge what God has done for you in His Son Christ Jesus, the more you are enlightened on His wondrous works and how totally included you are in all that the Father has done in Christ Jesus. The more you meditate and acknowledge what God has done for you in His Son Christ Jesus, the more your spirit is enlightened to the realities of what God has made you in Christ. It’s a privilege to be called by God and it is more than an honor to communicate His mind and intentions to another person. Never say to yourself, nobody gives heed or nobody cares; you are called to preach and the Holy Spirit will convict them. Always spend time in fellowship and the person and finished works of Christ will be seen in and through you. Well, it’s only sensible to assert that when attuned to the right network, results are evident.

Don’t forget that it’s not about you but God. A lot of believers make the mistake of thinking that because God has used them at one point in time to minister to someone, the gifts and ability comes from them. Well, this may sound a little too blunt to you but those people have not had a genuine encounter with the risen Christ (no offence). Christ Jesus is our one and only life (Colossians 3:3-4, Galatians 2:20). You cannot point people to Christ when you haven’t acknowledged Him as your one and only life. You can never desire vain glory which comes from human approval of what you’re doing when you let Christ live His life through you. Jesus in His earthly ministry, as young as He was knew that He was sent to do the Father’s will (Luke 2:41-49). His focus was on the mission He came to fulfill. He spoke of the Father and Him receiving all the glory (Luke 4:43-44). The Apostle Paul too refused at any given point in time to make himself seen except for the Gospel revealed to him by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You are not called because of anything you did or didn’t do, we are qualified because of what Christ did for us. There is nothing we can do for God to qualify us for anything except in Christ Jesus and that is why strength to do ministry comes from the Spirit of Christ within us. God delightfully foreordained us to be live in His Son Jesus Christ and He has set us apart for His own purpose.

When we talk of purpose, it has a lot to do with service which can be defined as committing yourself to Christ within for the benefit of others. The purpose of God is not only about you getting saved but serving as well. You serve by telling others about the love of God revealed in the person and finished works of Christ. Remember that what God requires of you is not what He requires of another person and so stay focused on what the Holy Spirit is leading you to do. And so the fulfillment of God’s purpose is deliberate; it requires determination, efforts and a whole lot of willingness on our parts. Take note that this does not mean Jesus did not finish His work, no, it only means living a life of surrender for God to have His way. This is because God speaks to everyone but quite a few have given heed to it. Some claim it’s not from God while others claim they have other things more worthy to do. What can be more worthy than living for Christ? He is the life in us and thus doing the will of God can never be burdensome if we let Him live through us. To know and walk in God’s purpose for your life, check your convictions, persuasions and pursuits and you will realize that the Spirit has been leading you to something particular. There is a great task to be done in reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God has entrusted us with the task of co laboring with Christ in the ministry of reconciliation.

You're Blessed!!!
