At the beginning
of this year I indicated that this year we will dwell so much on Grace because
we cannot understand our identity in Christ without understanding Grace. Grace
is inexhaustible because it is a person and so i will share on understanding our identity
in Christ in relation to Grace. We are born of God when we believe and confess
Jesus as Lord but how did we become born of God? It’s by Grace. Grace
is defined in so many ways but what I have learnt about Grace is God
essentially becoming all that we are, that in Him we might become all that He
is in Himself (2 Corinthians 8:9,) The Father chose us in Himself before the
foundation of the world by placing us in His Son Jesus Christ that we might
benefit of all that He has freely given to us in Him (Ephesians 2:5-10,
Ephesians 1:4-9). God is sovereign and for all of mankind to benefit from His
abundance He had to place us in Christ Jesus, His only begotten Son thus making
us His kind. Jesus was made incarnate as man taking up the fallen nature of
Adam, He then becomes the only substitute for mankind and so mankind dies in
His death, we are buried with Him, at His resurrection, ascension and seating
we are all part of it ( Ephesians 1, Ephesians3:11, 1 Corinthians 15:46-49, 1 Corinthians
5:14,). Grace is a gift from God, we didn’t do anything to have it but we are the
beneficiaries of all that Jesus did for us.
God’s
love towards you is not because you pray long prayers or sow big seeds or
because you worship in tears, it is who He is in Himself. Grace is not measured by
material possessions because it far exceeds that. We have received the
quality of the life of God which is eternal life, we’ve been made righteous, sanctified,
justified by faith, and reconciled to God. We have received adoption as sons of
God, we have the Holy Spirit in us bearing witness of this Sonship. One thing is certain the real you is known
only when you understand your identity in Christ. Pause and think for a moment,
if we had to earn God’s blessings and love are we sure we would have
qualified for this abundance we’ve received in Christ Jesus? Selah
Receive
everyday as a gift of Grace, every good thing comes from God alone and
you’re
blessed with all blessings in Christ. No detail of your life is hidden
from His sight and He loved you even when you were indifferent towards
Him. Only in Christ do we have access to all
that has been freely bestowed on us by our Eternal loving Father.
You're Blessed
