I have been
reflecting lately on some Bible verses and i came to understand that until we
are exposed to the truth of our identity in Christ we will always think
differently of ourselves. One of the Bible chapters I have been dwelling so
much on is Ephesians 1; It is more than rich in defining who we are and God’s
original plan for mankind. It’s important to also remember that our idea or
understanding of who God is, is mostly based on our exposure to the truth of
the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When we give ourselves to the Gospel of Jesus
Christ, the Holy Spirit reveals Christ to us in every regard. There are so many
churches today i would say (no offence) that do not teach the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I can honestly tell you that until God brought me
to a place where I could understand( By His Spirit) the power and beauty of His love revealed in Christ
Jesus, I didn’t know I wasn’t exposed to the truth of the Gospel. It is the
will of God that we walk in our identity as His chosen generation. Generation in
this context is not about age or time, it is about a RACE. A new kind of people (Kainos in greek)
born from above in Christ Jesus, the new creation in Christ, we are sons and daughters of our Eternal
Father ( 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Peter 2:9). Everything about the Gospel is revealed in Christ and received by faith in Him. Jesus said in John 14:6 “I
am the Way, the TRUTH and the Life…”Yes; there is no truth out of Jesus Christ;
His crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection, Ascension and seating at the
right of the Father is the only truth we have. We cannot separate the person of Jesus from His finished works. Jesus
Christ is truly God and truly man and if He says He is in us and we are in Him,
IT IS TRUE!(Galatians 2:20, Ephesians 3:14-17). God is our Eternal ever living
and loving Father. He has made us sons in His Son Jesus Christ and has through
adoption begotten us in Him. The more we are exposed to the revelation of the
Gospel of Christ Jesus the more we get to know of our identity in Christ. Burn for
knowledge of the Truth (God’s Word)
because only then, can you understand your purpose and calling as well as experience
the joy of being born of God (Colossians 1:9-10). We get overworked because we
want people to prophesy about our future; calling, purpose, etc we forget that
we possess the Spirit of Jesus Christ in us. Jesus has been made unto us wisdom and
understanding to the glory of the Father (1 Corinthians 1:30); this means that divine wisdom has been made completely available to you at all times. Purpose is
fulfilled in the truth of God’s Word. It gets worse when we want to imitate what
another is doing and at the end of it all we feel disappointed and crushed but
that I can tell you is not God’s will. Why would God send Angels to minister
to you?Because you are an heir of salvation, you are His precious son or daughter, and wants to use you for His glory
(Hebrews 1:14).
At times,
all we want to see is the physical and material possessions to boast about but
what about His life in us? What about our sanctification, adoption, blessing, redemption,
justification, it’s all by faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. We are seated
with Christ in the Heavenly realm, because we are in Him and is in us (Ephesians
1:21). JESUS CHRIST is our TRUTH and He stands for ever, You cannot add or
subtract anything from Him because He is Complete and we are complete in Him
(2 John 1-4,9, Colossians 2:10). The Apostle John puts it in best way in 1 John 5:20 "We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." We are of the Truth who is God, through our union with Christ. God does not impute sin on us because of the once and
forever perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:19). Jesus Christ
came for all of humanity and I pray the eyes of our undertanding be enlightened by the Spirit of God to
understand His Mysteries revealed in His Son Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-3) and
that we may have assurance of His love for us and spread it to all the nations
of the world. For further study; Colossians 3:3, 3 John 3, Ephesians 4:11, Hebrews 10:25,
1 Corinthians 2:12, Galatians 4:6, Romans 5:29).
You are
Blessed!
