TWO VERY IMPORTANT QUALITIES OF A GODLY WIFE

As young women living for God there are certain qualities we need to cultivate and develop in us in order to be women portraying Christ in our lives. The way we talk to people says a lot about us; it’s either we are respectful or disrespectful. Some people make mockery of respect in the way they talk to others. I recently worked with a young woman, who talks to almost everybody anyhow; she’s always moody and I would say frumpy in her looks and if she talks to you politely then you just had a VIP treatment from her because it’s rare. And she is married which kept me wondering if that is how she talks to her husband; of course not, I told myself because she’s only been married for a month. You might think to yourself too, of course she has to respect her husband. Strangely enough, if the people you serve and respect are your superiors (boss, pastor, and husband) then you have a problem. You are not doing it out of love but obligation and the day you feel they don’t deserve it you won’t give them. The two important qualities young women should cultivate are RESPECT AND SERVICE. Today we will deal will with respect and part II will deal with service.

RESPECT: This is a virtue that you cultivate by esteeming others better than yourself. The secret is to respect everybody irrespective of their age, size, race, position etc see them as God sees them. If you have not come to a place where you honor the Christ in the people you meet, you will certainly treat them any how. You can never give what you don’t have; you can not love when you have resentment in your heart, same with respect, you can not respect people when you feel within you they don’t deserve it. And you saying they don’t deserve your respect because you don’t even have one to give. Don’t always look for reasons not to do something, do what is right unapologetically. Whatever you do that is genuine needs no explanation or justification especially in the positive sense because it is done in love. You don’t respect them for any reason short of Christ in them. They may not be aware but honor the Christ living in them and remember always that Jesus died for all men. Respect is directly linked to seeing everyone as God sees them and not how you want to see them or how deserving they are of it. You can not respect someone and bad mouth them or talk behind their backs or entertain gossip about them. Talk less of trying to compare yourself to them in a negative sense. Nope! Be a trustworthy woman and be gentle and kind as well as honorable in your character; these all go together.

NB: In some days we’ll continue with PART II of this article.

You are Blessed!!!
