WHAT YOU DO TO GET THEM IS WHAT YOU DO TO KEEP THEM

A friend told me a story of a girl who is so in love with a guy in her church that she is doing everything in her power to make him like her. Strangely enough he doesn't seem to notice her and it is not because she's not attractive or smart, i guess it's simply because men hate to be pursued by women. They want to pursue and not the other way round. Has it ever occured to us ladies that trying to make a man like us is more like trying to manipulate him? You may ask how but when you are acting all 'holy' and 'christian' in order to make a guy impressed you are giving a false version of yourself. By so doing you are gradually losing focus because you are not pursing Christ but a man. You have become self driven and wanting things your way and let's say you succeed in making him like you. Sorry to say this, but his expectations will be too high for you to keep up with and when you fail to meet up, frustration and disappointment is inevitable. If you are pursuing Christ shamelessly you have nothing to hide and your focus will not be on pursuing a man but Christ.
I would not stop saying God is Sovereign and He knows every detail of your life and to walk in the beauty of what He has set aside for you, you need let Him do what He foreordained to do in your life ( Ephesians 1:11, 2 Timothy 1:9). The more you try to make someone like you, the more frustrated it gets because you will always want to be perfect and excellent which will not always be the case. You may end up compromising in so many ways just so you can keep up with the act. You are an original copy of yourself and when you strife to be another, you are no longer you and how uncomfortable you will become acting otherwise.
Then i read a story of a christian girl who spends her leisure time in bars or nightclubs all in the name of searching for a spouse. Hello! After you marry the man you met in the club or bar and you are expected to keep up with that character you had put up to meet him, you will say "you are a christian". Let's not act desparate brethren, we have a Father who is Supreme and Highly exalted in all the earth. You were chosen from the foundation of the world. You are not an accident because God created you with all the needs of you spirit, soul and body in mind and He said to Himself that it is His responsibility not yours (2 Peter 1:3, Philippians 4:19). If you are trying to make someone like you, most times it is based on what you see about them and not about all secrets revealed with their weaknesses and habits exposed. Let God choose for you and never forget He makes perfect choices.

You are Blessed!!!
