Today I
woke up and something popped into my mind; waking up everyday with a broad
smile on your face. I greeted someone this morning and she was so moody and
though it’s not the first time she has behaved like this but I felt bad because
we have God’s GRACE available for this day and you can’t smile? I grew up in a house where a frown on the face
in the morning was a little strange. In the morning when you wake up and say ‘hello’
to my dad, he smiles and cracks a joke in case your smile is not very broad or
better say visible. There are people who wake up looking really moody and you
wonder if greeting them with a smile will help but it only worsens the
situation because they don’t even answer. There is an African belief that if
you wake up and find such people around you go back to sleep so that by the
time you’re waking up again you will find someone with a smiling face. And if
you don’t go back to bed after greeting the person who frowned at you then you will
have a bad day. We are born of God and so we shouldn’t believe such things but
as a born again you can do better than wake up looking so moody.
When you
wake up in the morning smile and say ‘THANK YOU LORD JESUS’. Know why? You are awake because
of God’s grace, and He has taken care of everything that concerns your day. There
are countless angels who are all about your business just waiting to serve you. Jesus is alive in you (Galatians 2:20).
You have God as your Father and He has freely given you all things in Christ
Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). The Father’s love for you is particular and there is no
such thing to Him as population because He attends to all your needs to the
fullest measure. The Greater one lives in you (John4:4) and you are more than a
conqueror. God loves you beautiful smile and so share it with your loved ones
and neighbors. I don’t see why any one should wake up frowning because
seriously God decided to keep you alive and it is not because you prayed a long
prayer or because of your future dreams but because of His love for you. Just
because God is for you and dwells in you is more than enough reason to smile
when you wake up in the morning. It’s discouraging for a member in your family
to wake up and greet you with a broad smile because they are happy God has
preserved your life and you frown back at them. If they are your kids, they
will start running away from greeting you and before you know it your family is
going apart. This is very important to build a happy home. Our every second is so
rich with God’s grace that I believe we shouldn’t succumb to circumstance
around that might take away your smile but they should focus more on the Christ
within that gives you joy forever. Don't train yourself to wake up with a moody face or appear before any member of your family with that kind of face. No! Show them how happy you are to see them this new day filled with God's blessings. Women please keep hormonal changes aside because you are born of God and so your flesh should not control your inner man. Your inner man should dominate every part of your flesh. Make
a commitment with yourself to dance, sing, laugh and even smile when you wake
up in the morning because by so doing, you are celebrating God’s gift of GRACE.
