PRAYING TOGETHER AS A COUPLE PT1

These days, Christians are often looking for future spouses who are on fire for God, people who will draw them closer to God. Yeah! Such people seem to be the top on everybody’s list. They have a raison d’ĂȘtre to act and think in that way. Nobody wants to be with a man who doesn’t see God as a priority but rather as an option. If God is your #1 priority and your prayer is to serve God wholly with your spouse then don’t settle for less. Well, before you can learn to pray for someone and with someone especially your spouse, you have to start when you are not married yet. When you are unmarried, it’s easier to pray and claim the promises of God for a spouse. During the period of singlehood, you should start praying for one another. This way you won’t find it difficult to pray together. These points below will enlighten us more on how to pray with our spouses. The first three points are mostly effective when you don’t yet have a relationship and the rest applies mostly when you have a fiancĂ©(e) or you’re engaged!
Have a personal prayer life. When you are someone who has established a relationship with God by constantly reading your Bible, having time set out to worship and praise, pray with other Christians and do a lot of stuff that will build your relationship with God. Spend time alone with God, talk to Him, declare His majesty and greatness in your life.
Love and Trust God. I say this because some people may think they have a relationship with God which is nothing less than a one-sided relationship. Don’t always go asking for something but worship Him in the beauty of His Holiness. Love our Father for the great things he has done in your life. Trust Him for your future lies in His hands and He has your best interest at heart.
Pray for your future spouse even before you meet. When you were a little girl you had dreams of your prince and everyday you would be hoping you meet him. Hey! Pray for him more than you day dream about him. No matter your age develop a habit of praying for your man’s day, his heart, his work, his endeavors etc. Prayers work because God alone knows who you are praying for and He will protect him, provide for him, guard and guide him etc at your request in prayers.
Part 2 comes up tomorrow, be blessed as you read the first part which explains you having a prayer life before you can pray with someone else; especially your future spouse. Charis Shalom!!
