A HEART OF PRAYER

As we are preparing for our upcoming prayer program I would like to exhort us a little on some important things to note about prayer. Prayer is not getting God to do something for you because He gave us everything in Christ Jesus; God is our Father and we pray in order to have fellowship with Him. Note that fellowship can only take place between those with the same identity, that is there must be a sameness in nature and because of Jesus Christ we have access to the Father. In 1 Corinthians 6:19 we see that the Holy Spirit lives in us, and if God lives in you it simply means He identifies you as belonging to Him(His kind). The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if anyone is (in grafted) in Christ (the Messiah) He’s a new creation (new creature altogether) the old (previous moral and spiritual condition) has passed away. Behold the fresh and the new has come. This is who we are in Christ and thus we’re redeemed, sanctified, forgiven, and justified etc in Him. You have been freed from sin through the crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and ascension and seating of Jesus Christ. He is seated at the right hand of the Father with you and as you. Know you are so welcome before the Throne of Grace. God is the Author and Finisher of your faith and so you don’t need your faith for your prayers to be answered. The faith of Jesus Christ has freely given to you everything that you will ever need. God loves us eternally, unconditionally and so we should come in to His presence with rejoicing.

You're Blessed!!!
