WHO IS A FRIEND? PT 2

Yesterday, we started with 3 qualities of a friend and today we will go ahead with the rest 3which are as follows;

  A friend forgives your short comings: When you hurt your friend and apologize, you both make peace. There are friends who will tell you they cannot forgive what you have done. A friend acknowledges that you were wrong and no matter how long it takes, he/she finds it in their hearts to forgive you. I have done that to some friends, one was a girl who stammers and I used it to mock her when we have a fight and the other was a timid person while I was a little outgoing, I made mockery of her hairdo and other things when I am with other friends. I later realized that and seriously regretted all that I did to those friends.

 A friend prays for you when you are going astray: our friends will not always be on the right track, there are times when they will want something so bad that they may choose to compromise their faith in God. They may want to shun all that they believe in to go ahead and do what they want. In times like this, we should pray more for them and claim them for God, and not give up on them. And even if you’re not going astray they still pray for your wellbeing.

  A friend doesn’t talk behind your back: Quite often friends especially women fall apart because of gossip. You confide in your friend and the next day other friends are talking about it. That’s bad! There are times when what you’re facing is really delicate and you confide in someone you think you trust and consider a confidante; and behold, she takes it to the public. We have struggles; our friends too have struggles, be there for one another, keep one another’s secrets with love.

  A friend makes your happiness her priority: Friends always want to see their friends happy, when your friend is going through something; maybe it’s a tough decision, dealing with addiction, they are feeling depressed and discouraged, battling illness or loss of loved one etc be there with them and hold their hands. Tell them you are there for them and you will always be. Hug them tights and listen to them when they have something to say.

 Let us be there for our friends and show them we care and want them to be better daily. We should never think we are superior to our friends or we are better than them we should love them as Jesus loves us. We all need a friend, we need to know that we can talk about anything to each other without fear or criticism. Jesus is a perfect example of who a friend is and if we follow His example we’ll be make great friends to one another!
